![]() ![]() At the time we first wrote that piece, we were anticipating a late 2021 or early 2022 launch. ![]() We've provided extensive coverage on Intel's Arc Alchemist architecture, dating back to about one year ago. ![]() How does the Arc A380 stack up to competing AMD and Nvidia GPUs, and what's all the hype about AV1 hardware encoding acceleration? You can see where it lands in our GPU benchmarks hierarchy, which if you want a spoiler is… not good. (And no, I don't really count the Intel DG1 from last year, since it only worked on specific motherboards.) Still, the A380's not all bad, and we're happy to see Team Blue rejoin the dedicated GPU market for the first time in over 24 years. The single offering on Newegg sold out and is currently back ordered, but that's likely more to do with limited supplies than high demand. Several months later, after plenty of negative publicity courtesy of GPUs that made their way to other shores, and with numerous driver updates come and gone, Arc A380 has officially launched in the US with a starting price of $139. Rather than taking sufficient time to fix the drivers before the retail launch, and with the clock ticking as new AMD and Nvidia GPUs are on the horizon, Intel decided to ship its Arc GPUs first in China - likely not the sort of approach a company would take if the product were worthy of making our list of the best graphics cards. By all indications, Intel knew the drivers were broken when the hardware was ready for release earlier this year. The Intel Arc A380 has to be one of the worst graphics card launches in history - not the hardware itself, necessarily, but the retail launch of the hardware. ![]()

![]() ![]() We can cut Mingo a little slack given his high aDOT & downfield usage, but it’s not enough to excuse such a poor production profile for a senior declare.ĭo I respect the size/athleticism combination, draft capital, and landing spot? Absolutely. He didn’t even lead Ole Miss in receptions, receiving yards, or yards per route run UDFA Malik Heath did. We’re talking about a senior that wasn’t playing alongside any other NFL Draft worthy receivers. Definite improvement, but not even stellar given context of the situation. Mingo returned for his senior season last year, tallying a 23.8% target share and 2.4 yards per route run. These marks aren’t even all that great for a junior, but it was enough for this campaign to qualify as his breakout season. After a quiet first two seasons with the Rebels, Mingo tallied a 19% target share and 1.5 yards per route run. First off, the production is incredibly suspect. With that being said, I think the Carolina Panthers and others around the league got this one wrong.īelow the surface of Mingo’s enticing size/athleticism/draft capital/landing spot combination, there’s a ton of red flags to be weary of. ![]() I just talked about how following draft capital leads to good results, and NFL franchises are better at scouting prospects than the media is. That combination in a weaker wide receiver class (particularly in the size department) really left scouts infatuated by his upside. With Mingo, we’ve got a big receiver with crazy athletic testing from Ole Miss, and he’s walking into a wide open Panthers receiving room. Of course, there are times where you or I may be correct about a player the NFL is wrong about, but given all the brains and time behind their operation, and access to certain tools we don’t know about, they generally walk away with a better hit rate. This is not only because higher draft capital makes a team more inclined to give said player volume no matter what, but believe it or not, NFL franchises are better at evaluating these prospects than us. In dynasty fantasy football rookie drafts, if you were to draft solely based on who was drafted highest in the NFL Draft, you’d have a really solid hit rate. He became one of the bigger risers throughout the process, and all that hype blossomed into the Carolina Panthers taking him with the 39th overall pick. Jonathan Mingo’s draft stock steadily rose to the point of first round hype throughout the pre-draft cycle. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The gas-powered Ram, for a long time, has offered a luxurious interior with quality materials that outpaces its competitors, and we suspect its shift toward battery dependence won't change that. That's roughly 100 miles of range for every 10 minutes during optimal charging. The 800-volt architecture in the truck will allow DC fast-charging of up to 350.0 kWh. ![]() Ram hopes the larger 229.0-kWh battery will get at least 500 miles of range. A smaller 168.0-kWh battery should deliver up to 350 miles of range. While every Ram 1500 REV comes standard with all-wheel drive, the electric pickup gets two different size batteries. Currently, the F-150 Lightning has an official maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. Due to an increase in curb weight, we suspect Ram REVs with the larger battery will tow less. That's for the smaller battery pack option. Ram says the 1500 REV will have a towing capacity of up to 14,000 pounds and a payload of 2700 pounds. Electric Ram Pickup Has Third-Row Seats (Sort of).Ram Aims for a ‘Revolution’ with New EV Pickup.Like the current truck, it will offer an adjustable air suspension that increases ground clearance for off-road use and lowers the truck to maximize highway efficiency and ease of loading. The Ram 1500 EV will offer four-wheel steering for tighter turning in the outdoors or in parking lots. Ram says acceleration to 60 mph will be around the 4.4-second mark. Specifics on the model with the larger 229.0-kWh battery are still a secret, but we expect less maximum towing capacity due to the increase in curb weight that comes with the larger pack. The model with the 168-kWh battery will be cheaper, tow more, and have 654 horsepower with 620 pound-feet of torque. For starters, all-wheel drive is standard with either pack. ![]() Ram will sell the 1500 REV with two different battery packs, each with its own specific advantages. And given the lofty MSRPs of the Lightning's upper trim levels, the top Ram EV's will no doubt mirror those as well. Based on the F-150 Lightning's current starting price of roughly $58,000, we'd wager that the electric Ram 1500 will open with a similar starting price. Ram hasn't said how much the 20 EV will cost, what trim levels will be available, or what equipment will be standard and optional. While the days of the gasoline Ram 1500 aren't over yet, the EV version is a nod toward the old truck's eventual replacement. Ram says it will use an 800-volt architecture that allows quick DC fast-charging rates. The REV will be able to tow as much as 14,000 pounds depending on options. Two battery packs will be offered, the larger good for up to 500 miles of driving according to Ram. The REV is being shown initially as a crew-cab model with a short bed. While the concept Ram EV was a wildly futuristic truck with several outlandish features, the production version looks similar to the gas-powered version. Like its future EV competitors, the Ram 1500 REV retains a rugged body-on-frame chassis and is pinstriped with enough LED lighting to cover a short runway. The REV is a battery-powered version of the gas-powered Ram 1500. Following the excitement of already available full-size EV pickups such as the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T, the REV promises both big range and impressive tow capability. The upcoming fully electric 20 REV pickup truck grabs life by the cord instead of the horns. ![]() ![]() ![]()
